For my brother Charlie

My man I tell you I do not even begin to imagine the majesty we will witness in those sacred days with our Lord and Savior...
I do however hope to spend some time with you in flight! The blessing sent to me through you from the Lord our God above astounds me. Lord I thank you for Charlie.

"Therefore , since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us." Romans 5:1-5

Lord God I ask that you strengthen me and let me recognize daily that you put people and places in my path to sustain me. That with them, accompanied by your Holy Spirit, my wounds are mended and I will, in your time, be restored fully. I pray that you use me in the same manner to show encouragement, faith, and mercy to others. Amen............

God eMails Answers To Prayers

Over the weekend a Christian Client of mine requested that we cancel his contract, this bothered me as you can imagine, not because of the loss of revenue (it is a looser deal for us) but because he is a Christian Business Owner and holds himself out as one. For him to want to cancel the contract and not fulfil his commitment upset me becuase we have fulfilled our obligation.

Today in my quite time I prayed, father God this is your business and I need to know what you want me to do about this situation.......... I was very specific in my prayer and told him that I needed to know today.

When I got into my office and turned on my computer this was in my inbox:

Settling DisputesTGIF Today God Is First
Volume 1 by Os HillmanMonday,

June 29 2009

"Casting the lot settles disputes and keeps strong opponents apart." Proverbs 18:18

We prayed about it. We discussed it. My friend had one desire; I had a different one.
"Okay, let's settle the issue the way the early Church settled matters when an agreement could not be achieved. Let's flip a coin."

"You must be joking!" my friend lamented.

"No, the early Church cast lots often to determine a course of direction or even select the disciple who would take Judas' place."

"Okay," my friend agreed.

We flipped the coin and the matter was quickly settled.

In the Old Testament there are many examples of casting lots for determining a decision. We hear little of this method today. Most of us do not want to release the decision process to this seemingly "flippant" process; yet the Lord says, "The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord" (Prov. 16:33).

Flipping a coin is the equivalent to casting a lot. It removes our own opinions and leaves the final outcome to the Lord. Pray before you take such an action. It will surprise you who is willing to submit a decision to the Lord and who isn't. It removes the element of control from both parties.
I believe the Lord would first have us make decisions through agreement and continued prayer for the decision.

However, there are times when this approach can be the quickest and simplest. It removes each person's temptation to lord it over the other. Cast the lot and settle the dispute.

Thank you God, your in control.

the Owners Manual

Owners Manual

Have you ever reached in your glove box and looked at your cars owners manual? It is full of important information about you car and how to maintain it. We all know that if we don’t take care of the car, change the oil and fill the tank up with gas, eventually the wheels will fall off.

When my son was born I felt overwhelmed, how am I going to do it? He did not come with instructions or an owners manual…… or did he?

Last night as tempers raised over some inconsequential matter my son said, what would the Bible tell us to do? Could it be that simple, can the answers to the questions we wrestle with everyday be there?

Today in my quiet time, God connected the dots for me; the Bible is the owners manual, not only for being a father but also for being a good man. His words are true and everything that we need to know to live a full happy life is there for us.

My personal mission is to give this wisdom and a bible to new fathers I meet and share the good word with them. My challenge to you brothers is for you to do the same, if you are reading this blog you have a relationship with our savior Jesus and you know the power of the word of God, I am walking with you and it was not till today that I got it, how many people do we know and love that have no clue.

a encouraging word

Stepping outside of yourself.

This is a post to encourage you and let you know that if I can do it you can to... God wants us to.

Today I was hosting a panel discussion for NIADA and as I stood around with the other Panelist, 4 total I had planned to pray with them, but as it drew close to the start and people started filtering in I began to question my plan to pray with 4 people that I had just meet for the first time. Granted we were all about to be on stage together I did not know them or anything about their belief.

I stepped out in faith and asked them if I could pray for us and over our meeting, they all agreed and stepped in to form a close circle.

The event went great and later in the day one of the panelist came up to me in the hallway and thanked me for doing the prayer.

If I can do it, you can do it.....

Longing to get back...

my brothers,

It has been far too long away from you all. For a short season that seems long, I have had to part company from all of you at "Wild-Men." It has been a hard road. I have seen the snarl of hungry wolves out here my brothers! Though equipped for rough terrain, I have grown weary... I need to return and be refreshed from the brethren that comforts me. Yes, I am sounding quite dramatic because I am tired.

I made arrangements to join you this Tuesday. I have not been lost, just in a different grid-square. Though absent, I have been talking about our King and his ever sweet salvation. It's getting easier to do so, I think it comes from dependence...

I am so excited to get back there and see all of you! If I can ask one thing, would you all pray for me? I have been beat-up a bit on this other trail. Till I see you brothers, be strong, wise, and loving...

"Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done- by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the spirit. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation. Rather, as it is written: "Those who were not told about Him will see, and those who have not heard will understand." This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you." Romans 15:17-22

Paul's letter to his brothers shows a driven heart for Christ un-matched by the men of his day and ours. I don't come close but know this, I'm trying to show fragments............

Be love, be blessed, and be in love with Him!

God will provide.

Moses and the people were in the desert, but what was he going to do with them?

They had to be fed, and feeding 2 or 3 million people requires a lot of food. According to the Quartermaster General in the Army, it is reported that Moses would have to have had 1500 tons of food each day. Do you know that to bring that much food each day, two freight trains, each at least a mile long, would be required!

Besides you must remember, they were out in the desert, so they would have to have firewood to use in cooking the food. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains, each a mile long, just for one day. And just think, they were forty years in transit.

And Oh yes! They would have to have water. If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take 11,000,000 gallons each day and a freight train with tank cars, 3.5 miles long, just to bring water!

And then another thing! They had to get across the Red Sea at night. Now, if they went on a narrow path, double file, the line would be 800 miles long and would require 35 days and nights to get through. So there had to be a space in the Red Sea, 3 miles wide so that they could walk 5000 abreast to get over in one night.

But then, there is another problem...............each time they camped at the end of the day, a campground a total of ~75 square miles........ think of it! This much space for camping. Do you think Moses figured all this out before he left Egypt ? I think not! You see, Moses believed God. God took care of these things for him.

Now do you think God has any problem taking care of all your needs? I asked the Lord to bless you As I prayed for you today. To guide you and protect you as you go along your way.......... His love is always with you, His promises are true, And when we give Him all our cares, You know He will see us through.

Our God is an Awesome God!!

So when the road you're traveling on seems difficult at best, just remember pray, step out in faith and God will do the rest.

Walking and Talking with GOD notes

As we learn to Listen to God this story illustrates the importance of good counsel and illustrates yet another way that God communicates with us if we take the time to listen. Today slow down, close your office door, turn off the radio in your car, or do what I do go to the "Library" (no one ever bothers me there) and Listen, God want to talk to you.

When God Speaks
TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1
by Os HillmanMonday, June 15 2009...

"The Lord is with you, mighty warrior." - Judges 6:12

Has God ever spoken directly to you in such a way that you knew that it was actually His voice speaking to you specifically? I don't mean just an appropriate verse of Scripture, or a circumstance that seemed probable that it was God. I am talking about a situation that you know that you know it was the God of the universe speaking directly to you.

In the book Experiencing God, authors Henry Blackaby and Claude King say that one of seven important steps to experiencing God in everyday life is how God speaks to us. "God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways." [Henry Blackaby and Claude King, Experiencing God (Nashville, Tennessee: LifeWay Press, 1990), 225]

You can examine the life of every major character in the Bible and see this principle expressed in the way God worked in each of their lives.

One of the ways God speaks is through others. God often used others to speak to individuals, especially in the Old Testament when God often spoke through the prophets. This is still one of the ways He speaks today.

Several years ago I was in a church on the west coast that I had never been in before. I was in the midst of a tremendous trial. Three people prayed for me, and as they did, they began to describe a picture that was reflective of my life since I was a young Christian. It was a very accurate picture of my life. About a year later a man from Virginia prayed with me in my office. After our prayer time, he began to describe what he had just seen as a picture of my life. It was the same picture that had been described a year earlier. A year after that I was on a trip overseas and a man from England whom I had never met before came to me. He and I had a time of prayer together, and at the end of our prayer time he described a picture he had just seen in his mind while we were praying. Again, it was the same type of picture as the two previous encounters. Only this time, one element was added that was important for me to know related to what God was doing in my life at that time. When God chooses to speak into our lives through others, it can be an incredible blessing. He speaks in many ways. This is just one of them.

God desires to encourage us by speaking to us. He does this in many ways. The next time someone speaks into your life, prayerfully consider whether God is using that person to convey something important He wants you to know.

Monday Motivational

When I discipline myself to eat properly, live morally, exercise regularly, grow mentally and spiritually, and not put any drugs or alcohol in my body, I have given myself the freedom to be at my best, perform at my best, and recap all the rewards that go along with it.

When we do more than we are paid to do, eventually we will be paid more for what we do.

What comes out of your mouth is determined by what goes into your mind.

You can get everything money will buy without a lick of character, but you can’t get any of the things money won’t buy—happiness, joy, peace of mind, winning relationships, ect., without character.

Are You a Threat?

Are You a Threat?TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1 by Os HillmanWednesday, June 10 2009"

One day the evil spirit answered them, 'Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?'" - Acts 19:15

Are you a threat to the kingdom of darkness? If satan and his demons had a board meeting and your name came before the board, what would they say? Would they say that you are one of their most feared enemies and they needed to keep many demons harassing and opposing you? Or would they say, "Gentlemen, this person poses no threat to our activities. Leave him alone. He needs no help from us." There are millions of church-going believers sitting in pews Sunday after Sunday who pose little threat to the kingdom of darkness.

If we truly believe that we war against rulers and principalities that cannot be seen, then we must realize that their mandate is to hinder any believer who is seeking to walk in the fullness of God. However, "greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 Jn. 4:4b KJV).

If you are seeking to fully follow the Lord, you can expect harassment from the enemy. God permits temptation because it drives us deeper into the soil of God. These times reveal God's power to keep us and walk us through the temptations.

Our message becomes fruitful when it is born out of obedience and suffering for His name. Do not consider it strange if you find yourself fighting major battles the more obedient you become to the Master.

God desires each of us to become a feared enemy of hell in order to affect satan's domain. When you begin to feel harassed, chances are you are beginning to affect the kingdom of darkness, and satan doesn't like this. So, how many demons do you think are assigned to you?

Power of the Tongue

Power of the TongueTGIF Today God Is First Volume 1
by Os HillmanTuesday, June 09 2009"

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." - Proverbs 18:21

Words have the power to motivate or destroy, energize or deflate, inspire or create despair. Many successful executives can remember the time their father failed to give affirmation to them as a child. The result was either overachievement to prove their worth, or underachievement to prove he was right.

Many a wife has lost her ability to love because of a critical husband. Many a husband has left a marriage because of words of disrespect and ungratefulness. Stories abound regarding the power of words. There are just as many stories of those who have been encouraged, challenged, and comforted with words that made a difference in their lives.

Jesus knew the power of words. He used parables to convey His principles of the Kingdom of God. He used words of forgiveness and mercy. He used words to challenge. He used words to inspire His disciples to miraculous faith.

Do your words give life? Do they inspire and challenge others to greatness? Who does God want you to encourage through your words today? Affirm someone close to you today.

DE SENO: Obama’s Christian-Muslim Double Standard: Our First Dhimmi President

By Tommy DeSeno

With every speech he gives, President Obama goes further and further in diminishing Christianity in America while inflating Muslims here and around the world.

For Americans this appears to be at best an incredibly bad choice of rhetoric or at worst the manifestation of a prejudice hidden in Obama, finally making its way out.

To Muslims though, it has a much deeper meaning tied to the concept of “Dhimmi,” the subjugation of other religions to Islam. I’ll define that in more detail at the end of this column, but first let’s examine the proof that Obama is diminishing Christians while inflating Muslims.
It started in a speech he gave in 2007 when he stated, “Whatever we once were, we’re no longer a Christian nation.” At that same speech he criticized Christian leaders, claiming they have used their religion for political purposes.

I guess he thinks “Jihad” is a Christian word.

He repeated again that “America is not a Christian nation” a few weeks later. Little was made of it during the Presidential campaign because the media protected Obama from controversy at all costs. Either that or they just didn’t grasp for themselves the “Dhimmi” implications Obama’s words had for Muslims around the world.

One of his campaign promises was to give a speech “in a major Muslim capital” in his first 100 days in office.

The only such speech he made was in Turkey. At a press conference before his speech, Obama said, “[O]ne of the great strengths of the United States is — although as I mentioned, we have a very large Christian population, we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation…”

He went on to say that America is also not a Muslim or Jewish nation, but no one has ever assumed that. His point therefore was to once again make sure the world knew he doesn’t consider America, comprised of 78.5% Christians, a “Christian nation.”

Three times in two years is enough, Mr. President. I fully understand you don’t consider America a “Christian nation.”

Perhaps what the President is referring to is that America has a secular government. We do, after all, have a secular Constitutional Republic that explicitly allows no state religion while allowing the practice of any religion.

The question then becomes does he see nations that are majority Muslim the same way? Has he made it a point to tell them three times they are not “Muslim nations?” In hypocritical fashion, no he hasn’t.

If Turkey was his first speech in a “Muslim capital,” why does he call it that? Like America, Turkey is a secular Constitutional Republic that explicitly allows no state religion while allowing the practice of any religion. See the double standard? According to Obama, Turkey is Muslim but America is not Christian.

In his speech in Turkey, as with his speech today in Egypt, President Obama told of his being from a “Majority-Muslim” nation – Indonesia. “Majority-Muslim” is Obama double speak that allows him to point out the Muslim aesthetic of a country without saying “Muslim Nation.” Again, note the double standard. Like America and Turkey, Indonesia is a secular Constitutional Republic with no state religion while allowing religious freedom.

To further diminish American Christianity and inflate Muslim presence here, on June 1st President Obama told French television, “If you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” In his speech in Cairo today, he put the number of Muslims in America at 7 million.

According to the CIA World Factbook, there are only 1.8 million Muslims here. President Einstein miscalculated by almost 400%.

He isn’t even right about the USA Muslim population being “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” Assuming his overinflated number, there are between 30 and 35 countries with more Muslims than we have, and if we stop him from lying and use the real number, the American Muslim community ranks about 50th in size. Certainly not one of the largest.
Once again we see an attempt by Obama to inflate Muslims by overstating their size and saying America would be “one of the largest Muslim countries,” but three times he has insisted America is “not a Christian country,” despite that we are ranked #1 in the world in Christian population and the birthday of Christ is an American national holiday.

The significance of Obama’s attempts to raise the Muslim status into something bigger than it is, while diminishing Christianity, is tied to the concept of what in the Muslim world is termed “Dhimmi.”

“Dhimmi” is a status historically given to Christians and Jews in Muslim countries. It is a lesser legal status with lesser rights. Political rights are curtailed. The practice of Christianity and Judaism is allowed only by accepting the subjugation of those religions to Islam, and Christians and Jews pay a tax to the Muslims. The entire concept revolves around the idea of accepting that Christians and Jews are lesser people, while Muslims are greater people.

Obama has made no bones about his wanting to get on the good side of Muslim nations. He clearly has no reservations about diminishing Christians, consistent with Muslim “Dhimmi” tradition, to do so. Sadly, it’s a racist gesture.

Forgive yourself

Forgiving OurselvesTGIF Today God Is First Volume 1 by Os HillmanMonday, June 08 2009

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:9

The apostle Peter was one of three disciples who walked with Jesus closer than the other nine. He was the most enthusiastic and the one man who was willing to step into territories where others would not dare. He was the first to step out of the boat and walk on water. He wanted to protect Jesus at times when Jesus rebuked him for having a demon influence him. He cut off the ear of the guard who wanted to arrest Jesus in the garden. As Peter matured, the Holy Spirit harnessed his many extreme emotions.

The greatest trial for Peter was when he denied the Lord just before Jesus was crucified. Three times he denied knowing Jesus. Jesus predicted that the cock would crow after the third time just to reinforce the prophecy to Peter. Peter was crushed when he realized he had failed His Lord so badly.

The Lord forgave Peter for his denial. However, gaining forgiveness from Jesus was not the most difficult part for Peter. The hard part was forgiving himself. As we mature in the faith, we begin moving in victory after victory with our Lord. Then out of nowhere, an event happens that reveals our true sin nature, and we are confronted face to face with this reality. We cannot believe that we are capable of such sin. There is no good thing in us save the grace of Jesus Christ and His blood that cleanses us. When God looks at us, He looks at the blood of Christ that has covered our sin. He does not look at our sin once we confess it.

When we have difficulty forgiving ourselves, this is pride at its deepest level. We are making an assumption that we should never have sinned and that we are too mature to sin. This is a trap from the enemy of our souls. People who cannot forgive do not recognize from what they have been forgiven.

That includes us.

The other side

The Other Side

What's On The Other Side?A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was leaving the room after paying a visit, and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side."Very quietly the doctor said, "I don't know.""You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"

The doctor was holding the handle of the door, on the other side of which came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.Turning to the patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice that dog? He had never been in this room before. He did not know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened he sprang in without fear.

I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing: I know my Master is there, and that is enough. And when the door opens, I shall pass through with no fear, but gladness."

Child Needs Prayer

Guys:

I stepped out of my comfort zone today and I am now asking you to help me pray for this 9 month old girl that has an eating problem. She does not eat and is very under weight and under nurished. I was at the chiropractor today and heard her mother talking about if she does not put on a pound this week, they are going to put in a feeding tube in her stomach.

I did not know her but waited outside the office and when they came out I asked them if I could pray for the little girl, her name is Oceania. God laid it on my heart to do that and it was so outside of my comfort zone but I did what he told me to.

Now I am asking my band of brothers to stand in agreement with me that this little girl will be healed and in Jesus name Satin be cast out. I do not even know the mothers name but I believe that God answers our prayers and that she will be healed in Jesus Name.

Amen
