Keith Martin Funeral

It's not the possession that we accumulate but the hearts we touch that will determine our success in life. Making a difference in the lives of others is what life is all about. On Friday I attended the funeral of our Music Pastor who was also a friend, not a close friend but a friend indeed. He was a man that devoted his life to his family and to serving Jesus and sharing the good news. He did not have a fancy car or a big house, but it was a house full of love.

As I looked around to a packed church it was ever apparent to me that it is not what we have but the lives we touch that is important. That old saying: “he who dies with the most toys wins” is SO wrong because in the end it all goes back in the box and you cannot take it with you.

Keith Martin was a great man of God and he will be missed. I hope that when it is my time to go be with our Father that I will have touched half as many lives as he did.

However, the significance of our life will be determined by the choices we make. We can choose positive over negative, smiles over frowns, giving over talking and love over hate. It is only when we take responsibility for our choices that we begin to realize we truly are the masters of our fate. Only then will our lives begin to change for the better.
