Is your life messy

Today in my quiet time I was reading 1 Samuel 7 and in the footnotes it talked about times when God seams to stop talking to you? It goes on to say that if you do not listen when he talks and gives you direction specifically acting on his direction, he will wait to to give you more until you have acted on what he has previously given you. I have been feeling overwhelmed personally and this hit me hard and then I read this:

Our walk with God is much the same process. Often we must go through a messy period of our lives in which all aspects of it are in disarray. It is in these times that God builds a new structure. He might remove some structural timbers in our lives and replace them with new ones. He might even add on another room. And unless this process takes place, we will never see the end product. The goal is more Christlikeness. In order to achieve this in us, He requires a period of removing all that is not of Him. It can be a painful process.

The bible went on to say: " Ask God if there is anything in your life or have you put anything before him?"
