We have a living Hope...

1 Pet 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.


How can we concern ourselves that much over what happens on this temporary planet when we know that it is all leading us to our eternal destination?

Peter calls that our "living hope," and he reminds us that it is based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If God brought His Son through the most painful trials and back from the pit of death itself, certainly He can bring us through whatever we face in this world, no matter how deep that pit might seem at the time.

So if we want to smile through the tears, if we want to rejoice through times of suffering, just keep reminding ourselves that, as a Christian, what we are going through isn't the end of the story... it's simply the rough journey that leads to the right destination and that is with our Heavenly Father.

Hope is like an anchor. Our hope in Christ stabilizes us in the storms of life, but unlike an anchor, it does not hold us back.
