Summer is soon coming to a close. Have you taken time to rest? Or are you one of the many, like me, who feel guilty resting? Why is it that we are almost proud of our disobedience to God's explicit command to rest?
God considers rest so important that he modeled it for us at the very start of his word; the longest commandment of the ten is the one about Sabbath rest. So why do so many of us flaunt it? Could that be the source of many of our problems, conflicts, illnesses?
Lord, please give us a desire to be pleasing to you in all things, even rest.
It still isn't too late. The unofficial end of summer is September 6th - Labor Day. So hurry up and rest!
