Question for you

Guys:

Today I spoke with someone that was telling me a different version of what happened when Jesus called out to Lasarus when he was in the tomb? It had to do with the fact that it was in hebrew and that Lasarus in Hebrew means something special?

Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

  1. Lazarus means "whom God helps". I'm not sure what "different" version there is. Nearly every Hebrew name means something. It is quite interesting to look at scripture through the etymology of name meanings. You find some truly unique perspectives. For instance, Barabbas, whom the crowd chose over Jesus means "Son of Abba", or son of the father. The crowd chose a son of the father of their own making rather than the one given by the Father himself.
